Blind folded anything is good in those situations where you need to not learn to follow what you see.

One could also where ear plugs.

Or tie on hand to their waist

Or place a heavy weight on one leg.

Alternating these of course.

They are aids in training technique. But the essence of learning how to do something or why it's done should not be replaced by modified applications of such.
