angus88
I have to throw this one out there - Hillary Swank in The Next Karate Kid. The greatest scene is when she's doing kata in the temple to the music of the Cranberries on a jam box. Then when the monks come in to the temple, she turns off the stereo - they turn it back on and start doing their own kata to the music of the Cranberries! Top 10 greatest film moment ever! IcemanSK
In the 80's, they discovered that people enjoyed full contact karate. So maybe they'd like movies w/ world champions in them. Anthony Elmore (who? you ask) that's right. The "Amp" himself made one of the worst straight video flix ever. I know, cuz I rented it. Cuz if it had martial arts in it in the 80's I'd rent it Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. bobbyd
i remember back in the early 80's with the saurday afternoon kungfu movie of the week matinee feature.that opening title song was pretty cool.it was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah ,yeah, yeah, yeah, yah, and then played this romantic ballad type music with the horn and stuff.that was on channel 5 in ny every saturday at 12 in the afternoon. then, usa network came out with usa's kung fu theatre and they'd have ancient buddhist and confucious manuscripts before going to commercial breaks. spike tv shows some good martial art flix, mostly with jackie chan, which is allright.they should show more of the other ones though,as well.some of my favorites from the past are.......,the 36th chamberdeadly shaolin longfistshaolin:the blood missionenter three dragonsthe leg fightersshaolin drunkardskung fu for salekung fu zombiemafia vs ninjasuper dragonsthe big rascalthe legend of bruce leecrippled fistdaredevilsthe deadly life of a ninjathe tatoo connectionplus.taking it up a notch, stuff likeninja 3:the dominationpray for deathblack maskchina o'brien & pt2rage of honorsword of heaventhe challenge(aka-sword of the ninja)no retreat no surrendera dangerous placetc 2000talons of the eagleall the bloodfist flix(10 of em i think.i have 7 of em)jackie chan flix(most of em)etc, etc, etc.not enuff time to rant away. i coulda been a contenda.i need a job that allows me to be free to be me.i like jazz, blues, alt rock, metal, techno, etc.my taste in music is very eclectic.i feel a strong sense of rebellion towards the image of the politically correct male macho figure.it's just not me,that's all.
