Muaythaiboxer Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 realisticly you will eventually get tough shins threw training but if you want tough shins quick the sand bad is a pretty good way. Fist visible Strike invisible
ivette_green Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 My Sensei is dedicated to say the least. It is good advice to train that way, but a tough way to train. I think I'm making people more confused... "Don't tell me what I can't do."
yamesu Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Aye, some styles may not prepare practitioners for this type of conditioning. But training is tough, and tough training builds tough karateka.I dont do anything special to condition my shins, but, then again, I dont have shins as hard as some of the guys in my dojo.Kicking a heavybag or sand bag is pretty common practice nowdays though. I think I'm making people more confused...I understood what you're saying - I think the insane part confused some, which is why we tried to clarify. the sand bag thing is definitely a good idea.I think the problem a lot of people have is that they are looking for some magical method of making them tough quickly. The bottom line is that conditioning takes time.
Muaythaiboxer Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 a vey good post. you get out what you put in to MA Fist visible Strike invisible
yamesu Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I think the problem a lot of people have is that they are looking for some magical method of making them tough quickly. The bottom line is that conditioning takes time.Exactly.Thats why, IMO, it takes years to gain BB in hard styles of martial arts, even if students have all the required techniques down, theres still the element of bodt-fittness, and body-conditioning.IMO, the people looking for 'majical methods' get very shocked when they start to train in an art with body-conditioning, and realise that there is NO quick solution to toughening ones body. Muaythaiboxer Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 another good post. you guys seem to have the right idea. Fist visible Strike invisible
