I watched all of Bruce Lee's movies about two months ago and have always wondered about his quotes. Do I have these quotes right?

"Don't think. Feel." ---- Enter the Dargon

I have no idea what this means.

"When you pour water into a cup, it becomes the cup. when you put water into a teacup, it becomes the teacup. Water can either flow or it can crash. Be water my friends. Be water."---- from an interview(is it?)

Does this mean to be shapeless, formless like water?

I think it means to adapt to your surrondings as water does,

"Time is what we want most, but what we use worst"

the first one alludes to the fact that in a confrontation, you cannot think about what to do next...you must feel it. If you think about it, you're done befroe you begin.

the next one means that one should not have a particular way of doing things...you must not enter in anything with a preconceived notion of the means to the outcome.

do not oppose, go with the force. flow around instead of into...which one of these is less unstable, a wave crashing into the rocks, or a gently flowing stream?

The second one has a myriad of ways that one could interpret it...one of Hapkido's tenents is to flow like water...same reasons.

When a man's fortunate time comes, he meets a good friend;

When a man has lost his luck, he meets a beautiful woman.

And the first qoute means to trust your instinc and not to cloud your mind with constant thinking and most importantly trust yourself.

I agree with your post mr mike, if i knew you would have had such a good explaination i wouldn't have said anything at all.

No it's, "I don't hit, it hits all by itself."

I love these: "Don't think, Feeeeel....it is like a finger pointing away to the moon." *slaps boy in head* "Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory." -Enter the Dragon

The water quote is about adaptation, the hitting by itself is speaking of Jeet Kune Do the way of the intercepting fist, and the one I posted above has many meanings.

"What's your style?"

"My style?"

"You can call it the art of fighting without fighting."
