Sam Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 It really [as with men] depends on the person..... some girls ive trained with really go all out, some dont... same with guys - i'd say because of testosterone more guys are this way, but not necessarily in a good way.
glockmeister Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I have had good luck with female training partners. Some of the women who train in Krav Maga where I train really go all out. I think the reason is when it comes to defending themselves, women take it very seriously. They also don't have major big ego probs like men do. "You know the best thing about pain? Kieran-Lilith Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Well, as a girl, I'd rather train with they guys, no offense to the ladies I train with. Though I do like to train with Atalanta. Mostly I like to train with the guys because they're bigger than the rest of the girls in the dojo, all of whom are shorter than myself. Therefore, the guys tend to make training a bit easier. Though there are some guys who seem to think they shouldn't hit us....it's always fun to spar them.... UseoForce Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 In my limited expierence, women often feel very reluctant to inflict pain upon another person, which can be a hindrance in many types of training. On the other hand, they usually don't have the ego problems men do, which makes teaching them much easier! They catch onto things quickly, and respond well to correction. Of course, it will be different for each individual. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
Adonis Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 only thing I find comes up is adjusting the techniques for certain indiviudals because of size diffrences and other factors when teaching.
Anbu Alex Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I train with women like i train with men because at the end of the day we are all there for the same results to better defend ourselves. if you go easier on them what will happen in the real world when they have to apply their training the attacker wont go easier on them. Dont get me wrong im against hitting women and not avocating violence towards them. White belt for life"Destroy the enemies power but leave his life"
Sam Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 you also generally find different styles with women and men so its definitely worth the experience trainign with both
Menjo Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I agree with sam in the post above however quite often i find some older women tend to be controlling while some younger ones are usually shy, but in general i think its good for people to train with different genders because it gives you different experiances.
