There is also a great deal of attention paid to evasion and spying. Most of the other stuff people posted was accurate. There is also a great deal of attention paid to ground fighting contrary to what someone else posted. The groundfighting/grappling aspect is called Jutaijutsu. The regular stand up aspect is called Dakentaijutsu. There are also several other techniques or "jutsu" incorporated into Budo Taijutsu.

There are three main styles of Ninjutsu:

Tagekura

Kumogakure

Gyokushin Ryu

The bottom two are branches of the Togekura school, which is the oldest known ninjutsu branch in the world.

This is an affiliate of the SHK organization, as they might know a little more than the rest of us.
