elbows_and_knees Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Elbows_and_Knees as far as my understanding went.... improvements in anaerobic indurance also improved aerobic endurance.... see recent news on "spring training"....My understanding is different. Look at fight training. Much of the training is anaerobic. there is also an aerobic component. If they improved eachother, there would be no need to do both. And we see it all the time. A good example is tyson - very explosive, good anaerobic capacity. But aerobic conditioning factors in later in the fight - and how many fights has he won that went longer than about 6 rounds? Most of his fights were won between rounds 1 and 5. He's never had that aerobic capacity.
Sam Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 no i didnt say they improved each other... aerobic doesnt improve anaerobic... but the contrary is true: anaerobic improves aerobic endurance....
Bruce WillPete7 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 http://www.rossboxing.com/thegym/thegym21.htmtheres a whole page of anaerobic and aerobic things, i would sum it up but im too lazy have a read and see for yourself. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless like water. When you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup; when you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle; when you put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow- or it can crash. Be water my friend. ~Bruce Lee
elbows_and_knees Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 no i didnt say they improved each other... aerobic doesnt improve anaerobic... but the contrary is true: anaerobic improves aerobic endurance....you're not referring to fartlek training, are you? the goal of sprinting there isn't to increase aerobic capacity...
Sam Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 i woudlnt know..... thats as far as my knowledge goes.... but it wold make sense
Muaythaiboxer Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 just keep running harder and farther dont do there get fit fast drills they are not as effective as just running. Fist visible Strike invisible
Menjo Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 I think he means when people say they have some fast way to get fit when its really just ...well not real exercise and i think it just says to keep running and itll get better, which makes sense "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst"William Penn
elbows_and_knees Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 yeah, basically. There are some good running programs around the net. Do you have a specific program now, or do you just run how and when you feel like it?
