EternalRage Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Kicking should optimally be done with the hip. So to go inside to outside, torque your hip inward then torque it back outside. Hip initiates the leg. If you try just to use leg muscle, it can be done, just inefficient.
Sam Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 can you explain the motion of the kick, as we all use different terms to describe the same kick.
younwhagrl Posted June 24, 2005 Author Posted June 24, 2005 Thanks EternalRage! you start with your back leg and lift your body up with a straight leg kick motion..then you bring your front leg up and do a scissor motion, and you go from the inside of your body to the outside, and axe kick, but I just can't seem to get the inside out part right...and hoping i could get some tips! •JUST TRAIN•Student of the Han Method"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. tufrthanu Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I'm sorry I still don't understand the description. Is this a jumping kick? Long Live the Fighters!
Sam Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 its like a jumping front kick with step.... like karate kid from crane stance thing but the knee doesnt stay there for ages.... then instead of a front kick do an axe kick....now for tips....as you scissor throw the knee across the body and turn the shoulders with it.... then extend the kicking leg and use the momentum from teh extension to throw it up.... then just axe.... it should [if you've brough the knee across] naturally go outwards now.hope that made sense
younwhagrl Posted June 24, 2005 Author Posted June 24, 2005 Okie dokes! Thanks a lot!! That helped!! •JUST TRAIN•Student of the Han Method"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's allready tomorrow in Australia" Charles Schultzhttps://www.YounWha.com
