I dealt the killing blow the other day (left roundhouse elbow :) ) Bag kinda flew off.

I guess there's nothing to do but replace it (?)

If it works, use it!

If not, throw it out!

I've done that as well. I've made the handle on the bag tear, and I've bent a link on the chain, causing it to fly off. I had to replace the chain in the latter case and the whole bag in the former.

it's possible. Or, the s hook or whatever hook it was mounted on was weak.
Weak in what way?

If it works, use it!

If not, throw it out!

I suspended my Everlast Bag with a double hook spring

inserted inbetween the 1/2" Eyebolt and the chain array

provided by Everlast for suspension. The spring, as I recall is a 200 pound test. It absorbs the shock from kicking and punching as well as reduces the amount of swing during use.
