Da Cheng Chuan or the "Great Accomplishment", which trains in a Chi Kung Style of Zhan Zhuang (Standing like a tree) is considered one the most powerful, if not the most powerful of the Chinese martial arts. However these styles are not very known, to my knowledge.

Has anyone heard of this style? I have only encountered 2 books on the subject and no practitioners nearby- however, there are practitioners in UK and China.

I would like to ask if anyone knows of this style.

1. What do you think of the style?

2. Were you able to experience this style's power?

I am currently training in Zhan Zhuang by myself and would like to see if anyone else has info that we can share.

I have learnt that before. About 1-1/2 years.

1. Types this word, "Yiquan" or "Yi quan" or "意拳" in Yahoo China. Many people is teaching in Beijing now. Of course, some good, some bad.

You can learn more about this kind of boxing.

They also got some short course.

To me, better to learn this than Newly made form from Shaolin Temple

2. Zhan Zhuang (Standing stance) is only one part of training

but the core part. And Yiquan or Da Shing Fist is useful or not.

This can be easily judged that Kyokushin has added this into

their training and restricted only those getting Black belt dan 2

to learn. This really helps a lot in relaxation of musle that

may generate dramatic power, reaction during combat and etc.

3. Personally, I would say that if you want to learn combat.

Better not to learn Yiquan, that is a long and boring process

if you are patient enough. You take about 3 years or more

to generate power from the whole body.

But if you want to be healthy, that is very easy.

Only 1 month, you can get that. May help much on

your balance and concentration during combat.

However, never thought of getting those dramatic power

from it so soon. That involves many training and

depends on whether if your body are "PREPARE"

Darkness grants me pair of dark black eye,

Yet I determine to look for Brightness

I've actually been training in Zhan Zhuang for a while now. recently i found the Chi Kung part of it- Da Cheng Chuan training. but I would like to know more about the style as a fighting martial art.

I practice Kajukenbo, thats martial arts for self defense, and I think this kind of practice could really get my training toi a whole new level
