Kajukenbopr Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 he should take it easy first, not get beat harder....learn to crawl , then you will learn how to walk, finally you will run, but all in its own time <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
Sam Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 i suppose.... sorry i have a bit of a weird perspective on things like this - getting beaten, hurt / stopped, etc. just makes me work harder, i need something to work against to actually train well, lacking targets or something ot overcome i struggle to reach my best.So id ignore me and listen to everyone esle
Kajukenbopr Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 lol he rejects his own advice <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
Zaine Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 why did you let one fight get you down so much? there are going to be people that are better than you, theres nothing you can do about it but train harder Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
y2_sub Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I was in the same situation once , well , almost the same situation , I was training real hard and I was so confident about myself , I placed third in an international tournament knocking down two tough fighters , bottom line , we had a tournament coming , i was way so confident that i was going to place first , I won my first fight and the second fight was against a real hard fighter ( who I admire and respect ) , I lost the match , after the match I cried & I had the same feelings as you did , but then I realized that it is my fault , I was not training as hard as the other guy did , I was soooo confident & arrogant , and that made me train harder and never trust on my skills to much . Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
JimmyNewton Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 you can't let it get the best of you.everyone here has experienced that frustration. its as much a physical test as well as a test of will.the great mas Oyama..which if your infamiliar with him, look him up..he has a lot of good quotes that bring me up when i'm down...but anyway..one of his famous quote was "laughter is nlightenment, to cry is to train".so dont beat yourself up, just keep working. "The wise and successsful will always be met with violent opposition by mediocre minds."
shogeri Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 First you have to figure out why you lost. Which means not worrying about how someone beat you.Forgive yourself, first and foremost. Nobody wins every fight. Somehow we lose, even when it seems that we win in the eyes of others. To yourself, know that it's only a real loss or failure if you give up, never trying it again.Crying is normal. It's those people that don't cry that I worry about.First thing - You were not mentally prepared. You lost before you started.Second thing - You expected something. Expect nothing. Just react.Third thing - You confused arrogance with confidence.Confident people know that they have the proper resources in which to get things done. Arrogant people believe that their hard work speaks for itself, and is the only resource needed.Confidence is based upon understanding. While arrogance is based upon feeling.Confidence springs outward and up. Whereas arrogance brings things down and inward.By losing, you step closer to understanding yourself, your weaknesses, and those things that are in within your power to change. You are making the move from being prideful or joyful in success, and into a larger framework of endless opportunities based upon knowing what works, building upon it, and then repeating it. It is a cycle of success, where only the most confident of people reside. It is that place, that champions are born.Take care!Look forward, and reach out!
