stonecrusher69 Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 HI,I'm practice Wing Chun.I was wanted to know if anyone has heard about the saying "The snake creeping up the bamboo" and how this applies to actual combat? http://www.youtube.com/user/sifumcilwrath"When the student is ready the master will appear"
fallen_milkman Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Since there are no other responses yet, I'll take a crack at it.Never heard it, but I'm going to assume it has to do with wrapping, a technique used heavily in Snake style. When blocking, you cling to their arm and coil around it, moving up the limb to strike around it. Works a bit like leaning, if you're familiar. 36 styles of danger
stonecrusher69 Posted June 13, 2005 Author Posted June 13, 2005 good guess and and correct because the purpose it is to hit your opponent. What I mean by Snake creeping up(My bridge) the bamboo(the opponets bridge)How it is applied is my bridge (as I cling or stick to your bridge)comes closer and closer which every attack until finally it reaches its target.(creeping up). its just a fancy way to stay I passed your lines of denfence. http://www.youtube.com/user/sifumcilwrath"When the student is ready the master will appear"
