Son Goku the monkeyking
we all no it has happened and if it has not happened yet then it will. iwas and still kindof am because mine happend 2 days ago. a women who has been training in cardio kickboxing at are academy, had to spar with me and even though both of us were doing different types of martial arts at first, she soon transferred to kungfu and is now at my level, and lets just say i have never seen stars like i did that day. all i could do after she hit me like she did was go downstairs and cry in the bathroom because i had nevered seffered a beating like i did. one reason i lost was because the past times i sparred i pretty much thought i was Bruce Lee because i was would always try and move around like him. but enough about me what about yall. The Phenom
Have to spar with my coach - he of course doesn't go at his top level but it still hurts. But sparring against better people is important for improvement etc., and an experience like these is often inevitable in martial arts.Annyway I hope you recover! UpTheIrons
I had to spar my Instructor's son, who was training in Tournament style. I dreaded everytime I had to face him because he had some of the fastest kicking I ever saw and could do a high roundhouse before you could even block. kitsune_no_tama
i visited a tkd classroom one day and they put me up against their top students (my age, but all 2nd and 3rd degree black belts). i won in 3 out of 5 matches, but in every single one of them i was kicked in the face . for black belts they sure have poor control.i overestimated their control and i got my just desserts . i lost the last match cause my nose and forehead started bleeding. they made me forfeit for inability to continue "Karate is an art. It must be regarded as such with its entirety of philosophical thought and development of the mind in harmony with the body. If it isn't thought of this way it is valueless. It is like eating only the bitter skin of the apple while leaving the sweet inner meat untasted. It is this crucial premise that is being overlooked today, and if the tide is not turned, I must predict the demise of the art. hawkfish
After close to a year of taking karate, I got to spar one of my BB Sensei's today for the first time. He is 22 years younger than me and has terrific control but there were a few times when he connected. A couple of solid hits to my abs and a really hard roundhouse to my left forearm were among the harder hits that he gave me. I have sparred my wife many times and many higher belt students in my class but I must say, today was the hardest ever.It was a great experience though and I would do it again in a heart beat.
