Trin769 Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I do Shotokan karate. I'm a purple belt now, but I find it useful to know the kata after the one I need for my grading. It gets stuck in your memory, I think. Our belts go: White, orange, red, yellow, green, purple, purple white stripe, brown, brown white stripe, brown two white stripes, black.P.S. Does anyone know any Ju Jitsu/Kung Fu classes for 13 year olds?? I am always too young to join LexyShotokan karate"I can only show you the door. You're the one who has to walk through it."- Morpheus.

kschilke Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I study Shin Neko Do GoJu, this is derived from Okinawan GoJu, so our Red Belt would be a 10th degree grandmaster. Our brown is equivalent to most red belts (after brown, we promote to black). I am currently studying Senseiru and Seisan; I must know these to pass my black belt test.
