mastertae Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 it is not the art that is effective it is the person and how he or she wishes to utilize a tool...you can not build a house with only nails and you cannot build a house with only a hammer....you need a combination of things to be efficient...to be effective you have to begin by believeing in ones self...than you should work hard to succed toward your goal and if you finally reach on plateu in martial art reach for another goal...working hard and xperience is the key success Is it not easier to strike a mountain than it is to strike a fly!
ad Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 i agree, to a certain extent i hear countless times that "it is not the art that is effective, it is the person and how he or she wishes to make it" of course it is the art that is effective, if a strong man was against a weak man, but the weak man knew martial arts and the strong man didnt, then the weak man would win, its not all about the person, its mostly about the technique and how you apply it to best suit the person u are [ This Message was edited by: ad on 2002-02-27 17:22 ] Brown Sash Hsing I/Lau Gar Kung FuBrown Belt San Shou17 yr oldhttp://www.selfdefencehelp.co.uk

mastertae Posted February 28, 2002 Author Posted February 28, 2002 yes...and...no....in order for the art to be effective the person has to be effective in the art therefore the art is still relying on the person...thus it is the person not the art that is effective Is it not easier to strike a mountain than it is to strike a fly!
Joecooke007 Posted March 2, 2002 Posted March 2, 2002 Now I'm just confused!!! I'm gonna say that it is the art that relies on the person sometimes and other time a person will be better suited to different arts. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
kicker Posted March 2, 2002 Posted March 2, 2002 well my opinion is that it is true it depends how much the person has been skilled at things Some people are better then others at doing things and some aren't we all have our advantages and disadvantages. Ssome people are doing their fav. ARt or coz they are doing it because they like it the best and they are good. when you do your best it`s going to show.
