ZR440 Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 After 32 years I still haven't figured out why people make such a big deal of birthdays. Is it because a person has survived another year or is it a feeble excuse to make them the centerpiece of attention for a day? Both? Really, I am at a loss right now. Would I be impolite to refuse any kind of celebration with friends? They probably think I'm rude or going through some sort of depression, but I just think of it as another day. Must be getting old.... Speaking of old, kicking air isn't helping my worn out knee a damn bit. Feels like mush and I have a color change belt test next week. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
SBN Doug Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 As far as the knee, make sure you're not snapping it on your kicks. That's a very common mistake that will cause severe knee pain. Also, make sure you inform the judges if you would consider it an injury. As far as birthdays, I just don't let anyone know its my birthday. spinninggumby Posted February 28, 2002 Posted February 28, 2002 Look, uh, whether or not ur birthday is important is beside the point. The important thing is that you get cake. And more cake. All the cake you can eat. 'Conviction is a luxury for those on the sidelines'William Parcher, 'A BEAUTIFUL MIND'

ZR440 Posted February 28, 2002 Author Posted February 28, 2002 Oh man. I don't know what happened to me last night. Some friends took me to the pub and I didn't feel like getting polluted. Some girls kept trying to get me to drink some shots to celebrate my birthday, and I refused. At least I don't have a hangover. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
