JusticeZero Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 16 is a great age to get started. One pitfall at that age - make sure to keep balance in your life. Don't stop practicing, but don't be consumed by it either. "Anything worth doing is worth doing badly." - Baleia
DKizzle Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 I'm 15 and have been doing Kenpo for a year. 16 is a good age. A problem a lot of teens seem to have is focus with the eyes. One of my instructors said most teens he sees in class have problems with eyes wandering while practicing. So one of the first things I worked on as a White Belt was focusing at all times.I think anything below 13 is really too young to start, even though I did TKD when I was 8.
Muaythaiboxer Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 you are never to young to start! i have been doing some form of martial art or martial sport sence i could step on to a mat and i beat people who started when they where older. Why? because i have more training and more experence Fist visible Strike invisible

striking_cobra Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 if there is no age limit for the school go for it, the instructor should be qualified to tell you who he will and will not train and why. the school i train at has an age limit of 18 but there are reasons why some schools only except older students.
