Kicks Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 We don't spend ALL day on the internet....just most of it. We do eat and sleep and take bathroom breaks every now and then.Touche! Good one! when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
SaiFightsMS Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Maybe an obvious question but How long are you off for summer break? In the UK we get 6-7 weeks, just wondering if it was any different over there. Many schools here are off from June to September.
Sam Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Wow, thats ages.... like 12 weeks.... coolIve got a 3 month holiday coming up before i run off to uni....
The Phenom Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I'm in the UK and where I am we have about 6-7 weeks for Summer break from July to September. It'll be a great time to work out more often and a bit harder etc. and plan some days out with friends. Why not take up a project or buy something like a puzzle or video-game to keep yourself occupied in the Summer if you're bored?I love Summer anyways. Happy Summer everyone.
Kieran-Lilith Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 We're off 12 weeks, though I think it's down to almost 10 weeks. It's sad, we're celebrating that it's getting closer to the end.But thank you for the ideas, I think I might actually have to go steal my brother's game systems....hehehe.... monkeygirl Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Read, read read!! Being well-read is such an important life skill. Go to your local library and pick up some classics. "Howard's End" by E.M. Forster is a good one...I'm sure other people (including the librarians) can make good suggestions. Reading quality literature will help keep you thinking over the summer, as well as expand your vocabulary, help your writing skills, give you a great set of books to write essays on (and yes, you will actually want this later)...meanwhile it's fun! Well, if you read the right books anyway.Tons of books like Around the World in 80 Days, the Time Machine, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein...would be fun and adventurous to read, if you're in to that sort of thing. 1st dan & Asst. Kieran-Lilith Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 I am a very big reader. Poor English teachers don't know what to make of me. Thank you, though, I have to go find those once I'm done with these. *indicates large pile of books on her desk* He who gains a victory over other men is strong; but he who gains a victory over himself is all powerful Lao-tsu
Sabumnim Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I've got a book for ya, Shogun by James Clavell. Read it when I was 15, quality book about an Englishman who lands in 1600's Japan with his dutch crew.
