frightmaster Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Breaking is a way to show power through technique. It shows trust between the student and the master and the students ability to trust the aster. I look forwards to breaking a brick. To me this willl be a step I am longing to take in my art. Sam Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 good luck with it.... the first attempt on a brick is always getting in the right mind set - because its a brick it seems impossible to break to start with.
frightmaster Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I believe if I put my mind to it I will do it so it will be an experience for sure. February 24, 2007 I received my Black Belt in WTF TKD.
aefibird Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Good luck for when you attempt to break that brick! I'm sure you'll do it. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
DragonMike Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I think that breaking is very important for martial artists. In my style we break at every test. Once you test for blackbelt you have to brteak bricks. I think it shows power, focus, and an ability to perform under presure. 5th Dan Tang Soo Do
