Breaking is a way to show power through technique. It shows trust between the student and the master and the students ability to trust the aster. I look forwards to breaking a brick. To me this willl be a step I am longing to take in my art.

good luck with it.... the first attempt on a brick is always getting in the right mind set - because its a brick it seems impossible to break to start with.

Good luck for when you attempt to break that brick! I'm sure you'll do it. :)

I think that breaking is very important for martial artists. In my style we break at every test. Once you test for blackbelt you have to brteak bricks. I think it shows power, focus, and an ability to perform under presure.
