hey i just started this new shotakan karate school and i was wondering if anyone knew with goshinjutsu is since it is one of the classes there?

I suppose you mean the translation of the word, and goshin jitsu means self defense. Gotta love that Japanese.

I attended a seminar in it once. I believe it's a derivative of jiu-jitsu that focuses on self-defence techniques that are not suited to competition (finger locks, etc)
