Hey! I just started BJJ about three weeks ago, and I find that there are so many LITTLE THINGS to focus on, and I just can't remember a lot of them! Usually I write down little tips to myself after class (i.e. don't use your thumbs grabbing them in a key lock, no hands in their sleeves, etc.), but I have a hard time keeping track of them all! Has anyone come across a good BJJ site with tips for absolute beginners? Thanks a lot.

I have noticed a big thick book (endorsed or even written by one of the Gracies?) on the subject of BJJ in the local bookstore. It seems to be a very good source for both seasoned practitioners and beginners alike because it has big high-quality step by step photographs as well as step by step instructions and guidance.

I forgot the name though, but maybe some of you have also noticed it

I have two very good books on the bubject of BJJ / Groundfighting - both only available online. The Fighter's Notebook from http://www.mixedmartialarts.com is the best MA bok I have ever seen - certainly the most useful. The other is the BJJ Student HAndbook from http://www.jiu-jitsu.net - not in the same class at TFN but still very good. They have a new one out called the BJJ Mastertext which looks great!

I looked at some of those sites and found them to be very interesting. It is time I learned something more about ju jitsu.

I am also extremely afraid of ripping my shoulders apart again. Bilateral torn rotator cuffs is something I never want to live through again. I am really not sure even trying a grappling type of thing is a good idea for me to try. I know with out it I will never be a completely well rounded martial artist but safety is a really major concern here.
