hajimekyu Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 Guinea pigs are wonderful pets. They take a lot of time and attention though.I think they are adorable and we'll probably get one after we get settled in Tennessee.Think you are right about the time and attention they need.I was reading that they will be unhappy unless they have other guinea pigs for company or lots of handling from their people. hajime~kyuThe more I think I know, the more I find I have to learn.

I love football (American), college and pro, but like college better than pro and I am an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan in college ball. Roll Tide. I really enjoy tailgating. That's a blast. I play hockey as well. "If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride, and never quit, you'll be a winner. hajimekyu Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Guinea Pigs rule! I have three, although until recently I used to have 4. They make fantastic pets - very rewarding creatures. We wound up getting one.I couldn't resist the little creature.A beautiful long haired calico girl. She was there every time I went to the shop and she was the only one who wasn't skittish. She just nestled in the crook of my arm or tried to climb my shoulder to explore my hair.So I was walking around with her and the next thing I know,I'm picking out guinea treats and a home We named her Parfait because of her layers of color. But her nickname in Guinea the Pooh hajime~kyuThe more I think I know, the more I find I have to learn.
SaiFightsMS Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 Make sure to feed her lots of good hay and veggies high in vitamin C.
hajimekyu Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Make sure to feed her lots of good hay and veggies high in vitamin C.Thanks...and thanks for the link too She is going to be one spoiled piggie. We have hay,and good food and we are happily figuring out what types of fresh veggies and fruits she likes. So far, apples in small amounts, and spinach and carrots are happily munched on Celery is not a big hit. That's ok though. My African Grey is happy to eat the celery. They have more cavies at the shop now and I have to stay away or I'll convince myself that she needs a companion hajime~kyuThe more I think I know, the more I find I have to learn.
