What do YOU take to a tournament?

Recommended Posts

i think just about everything was covered except one problem,

you said your taking your kids, so:

gameboy or such type thingy

pillow (they are seriously long days)

and a baby sitter (becouse we all need a little solitude before we compete)

ive been taking kids to tournaments for years and the hardest part is keeping them entertained after that competeing is a piece of cake!!

sticks and stones may break my bones, but i am trained to kill you.

Make sure that you have some extra batteries for the Gameboy(s). It would be pretty distracting to hear their cries of anguish when the darn things quit in the middle of their "best game ever" when you are in the middle of your match or kata. Oh, and label their stuff. Things get put down in the weirdest places.

That's a good thing for adults to do too. At bigger tourneys stuff can sometimes end up in all sorts of wierd places.

I go to tournaments a little more relaxed

I take a kata (heavier gi) gi for kata so it is nice neat and clean looking

A belt obviously

Then I just have a small adidas pull string backpack sack thing whic contains:

Blue and Red WKF Handpands (depending on which side I am on)

White AAU handpads (for AAU tourny's and PKC if im not on red side)

Mouthpiece

tape

cup and supporter

head gear (i hang it off one of the strings on the bag)

Shinpads (i put them in my head gear)

and a bottle of water and possibly an energy drink

That is what is in my tournament bag

Hope this helps
