Kicks
I've seen several forum members mention that they "have a tournament this Sunday". Down here we never have tournaments on Sundays, they are always on Saturdays. The only time I've seen Sunday competition is at a national championship. Who here competes on Sundays? RaidenTB
"Our" Sunday tournaments (sparring and randori kumite) happen once a month. They're mandatory for everyone with a blue or a higher belt, there are no spectators allowed and the results are taken into account at the gradings for a higher belt. The only reason they're held on Sundays is because some people work Saturdays. Imagination is more important than knowledge.

aefibird
Most Open tourneys in the UK happen on Sundays. I've only ever been to one that was a Saturday. "Was it really worth it? parkerlineage
Peoples generally have their tournaments on Sundays, but my teacher is nice, and since I'm a Seventh Day Adventist, he has a few on Sunday once in a while.Peace;Parkerlineage American Kenpo Karate- First Degree Black Belt"He who hesitates, meditates in a horizontal position."Ed Parker
cleung
Sunday tournaments are not my favorite either. Some events are split into both Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, there's not too many of them. This is especially important for those of us who have to travel. CTTKDKing
My school goes to 2 tournaments (as a team) a year. The CT TKD Open and the Mass TKD Open. The CT tourney is always on a Saturday, but the Massachusettes one os always on a Sunday. "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." karatekid1975
For our association, we compete on saturdays, usually. But there has been a few sundays thrown in there. When I was in TSD, we had both saturday and/or sunday tournies. Neither really bother me. Laurie F
Isshinryu_heart
Tournaments in my area are usually on Sundays, because people work on Saturdays. It's not a big deal for me religiously, I'm Catholic, but I just go to mass the night before.
