If your kungfu school is good then stick to kungfu. If you are in a hurry then take up Thai Boxing as you will develope fighting abilities faster.

If you are patient and if your instructor is good I believe that you will get great results from your Shaolin training.

Whatever you do I believe that you should not mix the two.

Use your time on an art that is worthwhile and not on a dozen irrelevant "ways".

I'd say go into boxing to learn how to defend yourself against boxing punches, or at least, learn how boxers think, and find a way to counter it. The best way to counter an art is first to learn the art you wish to counter.

can u get the same benefits from kick boxing and muay thai?

kickboxing is a broad term...international Kickboxing can be very similar to muay thai where as american kickboxing is more like full contact karate..basically it depends on the stlye/school/training meathods.

^^^ exactly. Though I've heard of some kickboxing schools being tougher than certain Muay Thai schools. Again, it depends upon the organization and the instructors.

crosstraining is the way to go and boxing is probably the best style to crosstrain in.

I would not go as far as to say boxing is the best to crosstrain in. It certainly is a good art to crosstrain in, but not be the best. It really depends upon what your core style is and what experience you've had in other arts.
