three60roundhouse Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 Ok...let me start with a little preamble. I have ALWAYS hated watching figure skating, becasue of judges biases, the fact that I knew nothing about it, the fact that a lot of the athletes anoy me, etc. Well, last night at around 10:30 I turned on Channel 4, and there was the Women's figure skating, the most talked about event. Since I was not tired (another damned insomnia bout), I decided to watch. Well, I just wanted to say that I thought Sarah Hughes put on one of the best performances IN ANY SPORT, EVER, and though I'm no qualified judge I was still amazed. I think the judges did a fantastic judge, though I think Michelle Kwan messed up a lot and her routine didn't seem as complicated as some of the others. ZR440 Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 Yup, although I don't consider what they do a sport, they show a lot of dedication and hard work. Sarah won fair and square. Didn't miss any of the seven jumps. And I think Russia is mad again. Go figure. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
three60roundhouse Posted February 22, 2002 Author Posted February 22, 2002 They are contesting....figures. That's why some "sports" ( or so-called ) are so hard to compete in - a lot of the true champions get cheated or jerked by politics. Sports that are judged by a panel are the hardest to regulate. 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
