mastertae Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 i havent posted much gunfu related materialsmainly because i havent been training hard in my gung fu arts...as of now i have trained in some tai chi, preying mantis, hsing and some wing tsun as well as some wushu...i am currently now reworking my-self as a whole...i know many other martial arts but i have decided that i have been neglecting a good many of them...through my experience i have only been in 3 challenge bouts which i won...i believe that there is no true best fighter in the world because in order to be the best in the world you would have to fight every one in the world...and that is an impossible feat to accomplish...i am currently working and studying pressure points which i found can be quite effective...utilizing trapping texhniques and learning how the body works is equally important in all martial arts....gung fu is no exception to theis rule...learnin how the body works can be a useful tool in matches...learning how certain people react to certain movements and so fourth...i found that many gungfu's utilizes this in many ways...in taichi when some one tries to push you you can move their hands to the side exposing their kidneys and such for attack!... Ryukyu1 Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 mastertae what research tools are you using for studying pressure points and learning how the body works. I am looking for more information about this type of thing on the web. Are there any books or links on the web you can suggest??
Phantasmatic Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 Mastertae, if you could send me some information on Hsing Yi I would really appreciate it. I have been wondering about Hsing Yi for a while. "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
mastertae Posted February 22, 2002 Author Posted February 22, 2002 well currently i have a poster and a chart which i was given by a tkd and hapkido grand master....also many martial art books implies such as tao of jeet kune do...certain pressure points...you may be able to find some on the internet, but wether you look on a book or on the internet you should make sure the information is from reliable source because there are alot of people who claim such and such...and my friends mom as well as my mom does acupuncture...so i get a chance to see many of the points and what the are supposed to do...as for hsing many colleges such as mine are now teaching hsing and tai chi as well as other martial arts so you may be able to find informations at colleges...also there are many books such as "Hsing Yi Chuan Theory and Applications"...as well as others...again were ever you get your information make sure it is from reliable sources...you can also get the history on many martial arts off the internet which may give you an preview of what you can expect from certain martial arts... hsing is an internal martial art that has been growing in popularity in recent years...also there are many people who claim to know a certain martial are yet know very little thus they may be con-artists so you should always do research into a subject matter...you can find books at karate-mart.com as well as many other websites... Is it not easier to strike a mountain than it is to strike a fly!
mastertae Posted February 24, 2002 Author Posted February 24, 2002 prssure points and dim mak points are different...dim mak points are technically pressure points that when pressed in certain ways may kill you within a certain time....but there is no scientific evidence...a group of scientists is currently doing research on dim mak points!...pressure point actually does have scientific research to back it up....though it is still being studied Is it not easier to strike a mountain than it is to strike a fly!
dtstiachi Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 are there any websites you could point a person to for more information? "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
