Mr. Mike

Recommended Posts

I train under the IKCA. Grandmasters Sullivan and Leroux.

What bodies do you all train under?

DO any of you plan to attend the West Coast Kenpo Confederation II?

Ok, so where are all of you Kenpo/Kempo people?

I'm just trying to see where I stand in terms of similarity in curriculum.

ALso, I would like to know if anybody is going to the confederation so we can possibly hook up whilst in So CAl.

Later.

I believe our organization is the IKKA. I train under Professor Scott Halsey, who trains under Master Huk Planas, who trained under Master Ed Parker.

I compete, but not on Saturdays, because of my religion...so I probably won't ever see you anywhere.

Ahh, Master Planas. I've never met him, but am familiar with him due to a video set that my instructor had in his cabinet.

Cool Deal!

Yep yep yep.

I got my black belt under Master Planas...whoo...is he scary! He seems like an okay guy, but out on the mat, with him sitting there just watching you...the guy just emenates power and knowledge!

As for the video series, I plan to buy it, still...but I had what was supposed to be a half hour private lesson with him that ended up as a two hour lesson on Long Form 4...he knows tons!

I Take American Kenpo Karate and my instructor is Ms. Perez (2nd Degree Black) and I am a second generation student of Professor Sascha Williams (7th Degree Black) who trained under Sr. Grand Master Ed Parker.

Currently I am an Orange belt testing for Purple at the end of this month.

Our organization is IKKA. I don't know my lineage, and I don't know where to find out. I train under Jim Clapp, 8th Degree Black Belt.

EDIT: Actually, I've been looking around, and I think Jim Clapp(8th) and his wife Judy (6th) both trained directly with Ed Parker. So then, would my lineage be Parker/Clapp/me?
