tkdman102088 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 yes but i come from a karate hall of fame tkd school and thats how long it takes for us...one of my instructors became a blackbelt at 10 and was the number one kickboxer in new england at 15 so i guess al schools are different in their process. My friend who goes to Nick Cerios Kenpo is a second degree balck belt and has been doin it for 12 years so as it seems 2-3 years is to short...also he has many karate championship titles under his belt. But as said before all schools are different. and excuse my use of "joke" above i mean no insult to anyone its just my opinion. martial arts may be made fun of by people who dont understand them---teach these people the true beauty and power of our arts and they will learn, understand, and remember for forever.---being a teacher is not just an honor its an experience that benifits not only the student but the instructor.
