kainekai
I use to take karate classes at the YMCA then my mom moved us into the city where I wanted to take classes at the local Cobra Kai dojo, but this kid from highschool that I hate was a senior insturctor. Instead I learned karate from this japanese man that was manager of our apartments... Oh wait. Thats the karate kid. Forget I said anything.I hate cardio-kickboxing! Enviroman
I once fought Mike "Bad Boy" Barnes in the All Valley Tournament. Since I was the reigning champ I only had to fight the final fight. It was great.
elbows_and_knees
cardio kickboxing isn't all bad - serves it's purpose. I'm actually getting ready to start teaching a cardio kickboxing class. they gym approached me about it, then when I gave them a demo class, they said that the members would much more prefer a cardio kickboxing version. There's nothing wrong with it - not everyone trains MA for the purpose of fighting. I'm going to make sure they understand proper technique though. The last 15 mins of every class will be spent aerobically drilling proper form of the techniques and hitting the focus mitts. JimmyNewton
Eh, don't be mad- it's just another way to do aerobics. Who can complain about women doing aerobics? We need MORE women doing aerobics in this fat, fat country!haha, i agree. it was probably just a cardio class. dont get your butt in a knot over it. Shane
I teach a watered down kickboxing class at a gym basically we spend most of the hour working thai pad drills and sometimes boxing drills with the focus mitts. So the members better understand the techniques me and my assistant will spar (light for insurance purposes) with them every once in awhile. Every so often I get a few who want more and thats when I invite them in for a class at my studio to experience the full meal deal. But its amazing how many people in this gym come into the class not expecting a good work-out. Some of the students have brought their personnal trainers in to try it because the trainers were telling them to take one of the cardio kickboxing classes instead of mine because you dont get a cardio workout in my class. Lets just say that those trainers where not thinking that at the end of an hour on the thai pads hahahaha I found it funny to destroy them on the pads. I actually enjoy teaching this class because I get to truley prove to a lot of people that this style of training is some of the hardest training that they can do.The worst thing is when I have cardio kickboxing instructors come up to me and tell me that they also are a kickboxing instructor. A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
