Samurai Shotokan
Another reason why the Black Belt is mysterous is for the non-MAs and most of the Kyu ranks never see what the Black belt class is like.So non-MA's create a myth about there deadly techniques ect. 28 movies, 50 years Godzilla is King of the Monsters"nothing like a good workout" Paul Pheonix

Bleeding Lion
wow, good post shorin ryuu.skeptic 2004, i really like the analogy between shodan and being 18. I didnt know about the fact that passing shodan was not an idealized event in japan/okinawa. i think it makes sense, its just going one level up after all, its not like from that point you can become a super sayan or have superpowers. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence thus, is not an act, but a habit. --- Aristotle
Samurai Shotokan
Mu Ryuk thanks for that link to the articleI cant believe that some people when they get there black belt think there the ultimate fighting machine but McDojos make it worse by giving these people false cofidence. The idea that they think there Uber because they got a black belt in what ever art.Umm confused about that korens having the red belt thing it sounds weird to me 28 movies, 50 years Godzilla is King of the Monsters"nothing like a good workout" Paul Pheonix
