elila
Maybe a stupid topic, but does anyone have any weird phobias or know people that have had them? I was checking out this site:http://www.phobialist.com/one of my phobias:Aphenphosmphobia - Fear of being touched I feel weird when people get all close, even family members. It takes a while for me to warm up to new boyfriends too. Don't like touchy-feely people Some interesting ones:Caligynephobia- Fear of beautiful women.Ephebiphobia- Fear of teenagers.Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions. ( I don't get this one)Sesquipedalophobia- Fear of long words. (Sesquipe- GAH! Too long!)Automatonophobia- Fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues - anything that falsly represents a sentient being.(Ugh, those things are creepy...)I should say right now that this isn't anything meant to upset or make fun of people- we all have phobias, right? vertigo
I'm afraid of heights... even though this is common, I find it very irrational I know that the odds of me (for example) falling out of an entirely enclosed observation deck of a skyscraper are about the chance of me getting pushed over by a fly Yet, still, the fear is a little bit there.Fortunatly, I can overcome it very quickly for incredibly cool things involving heights... i.e.- Climbing the Eiffel Tower by stairs, hiking along some mountains in Switzerland... karatekid1975
I have a few .... Fear of lightning. I almost got struck a couple of times. I think I have a fear of flying too (air planes, not rides - coasters, ect). I never did, but I recently found out that we are going to take a trip, and I kind of "cringed" at the thought of flying.I used to have a fear of "puplic speaking" but that was cured by martial arts (leading the student oath).
