Slydermv Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Just curious... what are the rule differences between Pride, UFC and K1?
tufrthanu Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Well someone posted the rules on UFC somewhere else here and there were like 33 of them so you'd probably be better off just looking it up on their related websites. Basically though UFC and Pride are grapple/striking competitions whereas K-1 is basically just kickboxing...however K-1 also has Romanex which is their MMA segment and various other "seperate rules" events. Long Live the Fighters!
TJS Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Main diffrences are that Pride allows kicks/stomps and knees to a downed opponet..but no elbows to the head. UFC allows Elbows to the head but no knees/kicks to the head of a downed opponet.K-1 mma is like pride...unless your talking about kickboxing.
unknown Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 K1 is pretty much Muay Thai minus the elbows. They don't allow any clinching in K1 either.
Slydermv Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 *nods* Ok... thanks.... that clears a few things up...
