Is it manditory for all that events to play that music during bouts, although it is traditional I have been to bouts with non martial arts friends and they want to leave simply because of the music being so loud and annoying.

Do you mean when two fighters enter hte ring and their music or the music they paly when they are fighting???

from what i know, the "waikhru" ceremony is used to test the boxers' strength too (apart for it's traditional purpose, as its name suggested, to give respect to the teacher). kind of like warming up for the fight, i guess :wink:
