cathal
We should petition to have it added to the dictionary. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
Sauzin
Another aspect of Mcdojo's is that they proliferate quickly. In a matter of a year you are guaranteed to be a black belt and as a general rule anyone with a blackbelt is teaching and often encouraged to open their own dojos to make more money for their teachers. It's the pyramid scheme of martial arts only less substance. The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it. cmantim
Another popular scheme is to have somebody "famous" that trained at one of their dojos. One near where I grew up claimed to have one of the Ninja Turtles (from the live-action movie) train there. "Pain is weakness leaving the body".....my Makiwara tells me so. Hidden_Ronin
Just typer Go Kan Ryu into google, that should tell anyone anything they need to know about McDojos..... "Greet your friends with open arms, and your enemies with open hands"
GOM
You can also type in "McDojo" into wikipedia and it will tell you everything you need to know. Also, type in Go Kan Ryu and that also talks about McDojo's.
