Newbie confused with terms and different styles

I have just started a beginners course at a local club, they call it shotokan karate, and the front of my membership book says minakami bushido karate dojo. On Minakami's Website, it says he teaches Shitoryu karate.

What do all these terms mean?

What style am I learning?

Why are there hundreds of Governing bodies?

He knows Shito-ryu but he is in a good relation with JKF so he teaches and give you certificate from JKF.

they all the same don't worry about it, so you are learning Shotokan Karate JKF version.

"Why are there hundreds of Governing bodies?" it's all about money.
