Bama Crimson Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I might be asking a dumb question but have you talked to a recruiter yet? If not, just be careful not to let them suck you in with really good looking promises. I would not hesitate to ask though. cathal Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Google man, google. Type MCMAP in the google search field and you'll find a wealth of information. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
SevenStar Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I've got a friend in the MACMAP program. From what I understand though, it's not standardized - what you learn will vary, depending on the instruction that your instructor has had. My friend is learning basic bjj, chin na and basic punching and kicking. they do work with the knife as well. They do have a ranking system, but it's more military oriented - tan, grey, green, etc. He gave me his tan belt, since I knew all of the stuff he was learning at the time, then got himself another one, so I'm a MACMAP tan belt!
TSD Y049 Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 Thanks, no I haven't asked a recruter yet, but I don't like 'em, they are not very trustworthy!! I have also tried google and nothing of any value TO ME has come up. But thanks for the responses TANG SOO!!! & SEMPER FI!!!Dusty Sawyer,Ee Dan, Tang Soo Do,Young Marine Cpl."Those who do not battle for their country do not know with what ease they accept their citizenship in America" Dan Beralis, Veitnam Jouranlist
cathal Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Not standardized? Don't they have a belt system with techniques they need to study before advancing? Or is it that the techniques aren't standard? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
SaiFightsMS Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10989&highlight=marine+martial+artsHere is an old thread about it.
