jctkd Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 hi i was wondering if there is a grappling dummy out there. i basically go to a bjj class twice a week, and tae kwon do, 2-3 times a week. i am looking for a dummy to practice my technique on off days, so i dont have to spend time reviewing. obviously its different on a person then a dummy but was just curious. thanks
mai tai Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 yes im sure they are out there. we had one in our high school wrestling gym.good tool. i think...i never used it but in high school some kid (ethan bosh) from another school quit playing football to focus on wrestling. supposidly he drilled on that dummy all year.then he walked threw state
NotQuiteDead Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Here's a link to the wrestling takedowns dummies... http://www.wrestlingadam.com/Here's some links for making dummies that are good for throwing and locking...http://www.geocities.com/fightraining/grappled2.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/fightraining/grapplingdummy.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/fightraining/grapplethrow.htmlYou can also buy dummies that are just for throwing, but I don't have any links in my favorites right now.I haven't made one yet, but I'm planning to.
NotQuiteDead Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 No problem. If you make one, let us know how it goes so we can get some tips.
Mr Pockets Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Just knock a guy out or put him in a sleeper hold, you should have a minute or two before he wakes up. If you need more time, rinse and repeat!
danege Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Just knock a guy out or put him in a sleeper hold, you should have a minute or two before he wakes up. If you need more time, rinse and repeat!Thats great and all, but he's asking about improving his grappeling technique. I hardly think a solid punch to the head will do that. Hand to hand, heart to heartIf you don't come, i will not startBut if you start, i will arive firstAnd hit you continuiously untill i see red.
