well, i noticed that the back of the defenders leg was facing a little outward, basically inviting the person to hit there, which was a big mistake for him

im wondering, what if the person manages to constantly keep the back of their leg behind them, how would you manage to hit there then?

Hitting to any part of the thigh hurts. Personally, I think the side of the thigh is the worst.

Passion transcends pain.

Disadvantage of being kicked in the leg: It can cause leg damage and interfere with your ability to fight or walk.

Disadvantage of being kicked in the head: It can cause severe damage, including concussion, unconsciousness, and death.

All things considered, I rather fight a leg kicker than a head hunter anyday.

I'd rather fight the head hunter any day, in any situation. Maybe if my arms were tied down or had fallen off...nah...even then I think I would rather fight a guy who likes to kick to the head.

Head hunters are easy to jam, and catch, and throw. They shoot for a very specific and small target that is easy to protect and move. Also head hunters don't know what to do when you grab them. Their balance is easy to defeat. In the ring only rules like “the only contact the head is with kicks” and “no grabbing kicks or throwing” protect head hunters. Without these rules they quickly learn to be more conservative with head kicks, or else they aren’t very successful.

Leg kickers are generally more experienced fighters who know where your real weaknesses are. On the street though the target isn't usually your thigh, it's your knees or chins. Leg kickers don't have a problem when someone grabs them and it's your balance not theirs that you have to worry about. In the ring they are dangerously patient. They know what to look for once they wear you down and they are all too quick to take advance of it once they do.

The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.
