Son Goku the monkeyking Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 can anyone tell me some skate boarding basics, ESPECIALLY were my feet should be at when i is on the board i would really apreciate it PEACE
battousai16 Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 there are a billion websites if you google 'em, but to tell you the truth, the best way to learn is to go out there and screw up. a lot. kick down on one end to put it in the air, use the other foot to manipulate it; there's not much to it in theorey. personally, i use an enjoi deck because i think it gets a bit more pop than others. just skate around with people and you'll pick stuff up. Taku-Shimazu Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Skateboarding?Personally I feel that Rollerblading, or inline is more free to move around.I used to skateboard a few years back though, I learnt to ollie over things, like cones and things (Sideways). I got really annoyed with kickflips though, I tried to learn it for about 7 weeks but I was always just off landing it.I wasn't very good at it and even after 2yrs I think some have it and some don't. So I played 'Jet set radio future' on X-box and I was hooked on it and still am now after about 4yrs and thats how I got into inline and for the past 4yrs I have inline skating. Its hard to juggle MA training and Inline.Extreme sports require alot of effort, if you don't give 100 per cent then you will stay at the low end of the skills list. The cool summer breeze passes me by.
TheDevilAside Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I used to skateboard all the time, and I agree with battousai. Personally, I'd say about 25% of skateboarding is skill, 75% of it is guts and a high pain tolerance. How much can you do so far? "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
pineapple Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I used to skateboard back in the days when skateboards weren't sold in the stores. You had to get a set of skates and screw the metal wheels to a piece of board and I got the stitches on my head to prove it. What works works
