aefibird Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Oh ye thats good, played all the time at the Rugby games....yes, I know...That's where I first got it stuck in my head. Still, it's better than what they play at the Sheffield Wednesday FC games.I cracked yesterday and bought the song - gotta love that Peter Kay video!! "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!

kris Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Do you ever get songs/tunes stuck in your head that you just can't stop humming or singing?I've got one of those "earworms" right now:Tony Christie's "(Is This The Way To) Amarillo". The kids where I work keep singing it too - I think it's stuck in more heads than just mine!!I've only heard that version once but I keep getting the version that Radio 1 plays in the morning in my head, (Is this the way to)Aberystwyth (sp?) Does my head in, Chris Moyles is evil
Grenadier Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Usually, singing the tune out loud helps get it out of your head. Unfortunately, that's not an option for me under most circumstances. The most annoying song had to be that Europop piece of (insert negative term here), made by Eiffel 65, known as "Blue." Yo listen up: here's a storyAbout a little guyThat lives in a blue worldAnd all day and all night and everything he sees isJust blue like him inside and outsideBlue his house with a blue little windowAnd a blue Corvette and everything is blue for himAnd himself and everybody around 'Cause he aint got nobody to listen: ...I'm blue da ba dee da ba-ah da ba deee da ba da-ah da ba dee da ba-ah da ba dee da ba da-ah da ba dee da ba-ah da ba dee da ba da-ah da ba dee da bah...(remaining awful lyrics removed)That song probably caused me more misery than any other in recent history. I used to live in an apartment complex, and one of the neighbor's kids kept playing this song over, and over, and over, and over, and was actually going to sing it for his school's talent(less) show.
monkeygirl Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 man, i had "this love" in my head for the longest time, which really sucked cuz i hate that song. the worst is when you get a song in your head that you don't really know, so it's the same 8 bars or so forever! the trick is to have an arsenal of the catchiest songs ever to get less catchy songs out. particle man, anyone? That's actually how I get most songs stuck in my head. I'll be thinking of songs and kind of singing in my head, and then I get stuck at a point where I don't know any of the words except two or three...then it revolves in my brain for ages until I hear the song again, then it's gone. This seems to happen often with that Christmas Chipmunks song where they're pleading Santa to give them gifts or something. I always hear the part where one of them (Theodore I think) says "Caaaan I haaave a hooola hooop?" over and over and over again. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Cmon Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Aefibird, do you like rugby? Or are you more of a fottie lover?

ovine king Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 right now i have this running around my head 24 hours a day....This is the first day of my life I swear I was born right in the doorway I went out in the rain suddenly everything changed They're spreading blankets on the beach Yours is the first face that I saw I think I was blind before I met you Now I don’t know where I am I don’t know where I’ve been But I know where I want to go And so I thought I’d let you know That these things take forever I especially am slow But I realise that I need you And I wondered if I could come home Remember the time you drove all night Just to meet me in the morning And I thought it was strange you said everything changed You felt as if you had just woke up And you said “this is the first day of my life I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you But now I don’t care I could go anywhere with you And I’d probably be happy” So if you want to be with me With these things there’s no telling We just have to wait and see But I’d rather be working for a paycheck Then waiting to win the lottery Besides maybe this time is different I mean I really think you like methank you bright eyes......at least it's a decent song.at times i also get hit me baby one more time in my head, although i should add that it's the travis acoustic version and not the britney one.... earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.
aefibird Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Aefibird, do you like rugby? Or are you more of a fottie lover? Both!I support the decidedly awful Rotherham at rugby and the just-as-equally-awful Sheffield Wednesday at football.I like both League and Union, but if pressed I'd say Union was my favourite out of the two.I hardly ever get to go to footie games, though, as I'm usually teaching karate on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, parking is so bad round Hillsborough that I have to leave my car somewhere like Manchester. On the subject of annoying songs, I seem to have gotten rid of all my "earworms" lately. It's amazing what a good dose of Irom Maiden will do... "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
