pegasi
If you have a faded black gi, why not purchase some dye, such as RIT (here in the us) and redye it so it looks newer? Then you still have your favorite gi, just more presentable, as it doesn't look so old anymore with a fresh color on it. what goes around, comes around

Would you dye your favorite jeans if they were old and faded? Would you dye your spouse if they were old and not new looking still? Like me, my old, faded (but still in decent shape) gi has "experience" and is time tested. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. cathal
I'm sorry, I just can't get the picture of dyeing a dog out of my head... .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu

Jussi Häkkinen
Dying clothes is completely acceptable - after all, it's just something you wear. If your do-gi becomes neat again, why wouldn't one dye it?It's not a spouse, it's not a dog. It's just something you wear. And yes, I would re-dye my favourite pair of jeans, as well.
