In sparring, if you want to fight and allow groin kicks you just say so. But, for females the chest area and groin are mysteries to males. WOmen have told me that those areas are sensitive and hurt.

My question is, what do you think of hitting to the chest? Just anything you want to say

If i had to choose between karate and everything else, I would choose karate so i could beat up whoever made me make the decision and have everything else

I'd not be likely to ever hit a girl in any situation. I just don't do that. I would block or evade, but it'd take a lot for me to hit them at all, outside sparring.

For one thing I never hit the chest on purpose. The closest that I want to get is, the solar plexus, the floating ribs, the neck and just below the armpit, but not the chest. And if some crack ho comes at me with a knife, you bet I’m going to hit her. I’m going to hit her so hard that she wakes up in the middle of next week.

Let me correct myself. A better term for who I wouldn't hit would be "lady". And obviously a crack * with a knife is not a lady.

I agree.

I don't think I'd waste my time going for the "chest" as I feel it is not a viable target. The sternum, head, etc. are.

I once had a female student who got hit in the chest in a tournament and she experienced a lot of pain for days.

I definitely avoid hitting females in the chest during sparring.

The funny thing about it is that I suggest to the females to get a chest protector but they all declined.

As I woman, I can speak with experience when I say that getting hit in the chest (especially the nipples) and the groin definately hurts.

However, the chest is not usually a viable target and I'd say that opponents are more likely to strike to other areas, rather than the chest.

I have a ladies chest protector for sparring, but it is so unwieldly and uncomfortable to wear that I seldom wear it, unless I'm in a competition where it is required by the rules.

Don't hit them in the chest or in the groin- It HURTS! I'm a girl and a whole bunch of boys do that to me when they spar. If you do want to hit those areas, hit them softly.

My own personal opinion, but I almost see it as a neccissary respect to not hit women in the chest when I spar them. They don't full-bore kick me in the groin, therefore, I don't punch or kick them in the chest. Common courtesy.
