JaseP Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 My wife of 8+ years just tested for her Ko Dan Ja ranking in Tang Soo Do (4th Dan). Soon she will join me in the Masters' ranks (our belts are awarded after a brief wait of 1.5-2 months). She had a good test. Along with her,... 3 of my cho dan bos tested for 1st Dan.Needless to say, I'm a little proud of her right now. She has had a lot of anxiety leading up to this test, and it's behind her now... TangSooGuy Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Congratulations! I just received my 4th Dan Master's rank last year, so I know how she feels. It's a huge step, and a humbling one, as well.I had the opportunity to watch others test for 5th and 6th Dan, and realized how much further I really have to go.My wife tested for E Dan last year as well, so I know what it's like to have a partner who shares your passion for the martial arts, and how proud you are when she succeeds.I've been teaching my own students for a little over 3 years, and should have my first couple of Cho Dans by the end of this year, so congrats on having some new Cho Dans as well.Tang Soo!
Thruhiker Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Congratulations to the wives of JaseP and TanSooGuy. One doesn't see that kind of dedication very often and its a great honor to have that caliber of people on this website.By the way congratulations on to JaseP and TanSooGuy for your present rank. Happy Easter!!
karatekid1975 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Congrads to both you and your "better" halves hehehehe. My honey and I train together as well. He is about to test for prov BB (same thing as cho dan bo in TSD) in April I'll be testing in July for 1st gup. Thruhiker, I agree. Not many couples train together. It is cool when I see that, because I thought we (my honey and I) were the only ones sharing in the passion of MA's.Tang Soo! Laurie F
TangSooGuy Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Oh she is definitely my better half....and I'd have a hard time running a school without her.At my last test, for one of the questions we had, we were asked to tell who our heroes were, in three words or less. My answer was very easy - my wife. She ALWAYS does the right thing, no matter how hard it is, or how easy it would be to do something else instead...
TSD Y049 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Conradulations to your wife JaseP. My instructor and his wife train together, and think it would be hard for him to run the school without her, she takes care of the accounting and stuff like that.
