ramcalgary Posted February 9, 2002 Posted February 9, 2002 Although I normally don not care what the public thinks of kickboxing. The only way to see more of it on the tube is to appeal to a larger audience. I think that the following would help: 1) Eliminate the multiple organizations who sanction their own champions and come up with one ranking system and have all the promoters and sanctioning bodies agree. This would allow fighters to be shown and marketed as a true world champion. 2) Standardize the rules. 3) Get together and push for kickboxing to be added to the Olympics. It adds credability to the sport and many more viewers. 4) If no Olympics how about the world cup of kickboxing to be held once every four years with only one representative from each country attending in each weight category. If we do not come together as a sport we are doomed to be a fringe or extreme sport forever. It has been 25 years and people are still saying that kickboxing is the sport of the future. What are we waiting for lets show the world what we all know. That kickboxers are great athletes and our sport is the cream of the crop as far as ring fighting arts is concerned. That is what I think ....... Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever

Since the WWF guys won't have a *REAL* fight after seeing their buddy get beaten to a pulp, we'll turn up at the WWF, jump in the ring and belt them up! The public will love it. LOL! Great idea...
kicker Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 well i think thats good ram but well it does need to do something to show that this sport is not weak and it is affective and we can kick ass when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
Singularity Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 YES BON! That was probably one of the best things I've heard in a long time. "I'm not a fighter, I'm an entertainer." I've heard this so much from WWF "fighters." That's right, you're not, you overstuffed pansy, step into a ring with a diligent kickboxer, and well see how ****y you are. Just my humble opinion, I felt this was a good place to vent. In all seriousness though, I do agree that standardizing the rules would help greatly, as well as the idea of bringing together all the fringe organizations. Organization I think is the key overall.
