GhostlySykanRyu Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Most have us have heard of it, the old Hawaiian bone breaking art of Lua, said to have been/be very effective. Besides a few articles here and there, I have very little information on it, besides the fact that it was (possibly almost) wiped out with the introduction of guns to the islands during WWII. There must be some Lua practitioners out there...anyone have any information on Lua? I know that Danzan Ryu, and thusly Sykan Ryu, may very well have some aspects of Lua. After all, Okazaki compiled his techniques from the many arts he studied into Danzan Ryu while in Hawaii. In fact, Danzan Ryu means "Sandalwood Mountain Style" (Sandalwood Mountain being what the Japanese called Hawaii), so that would lead one to believe that the island's martial art, which Okazaki learned, would be part of the system. To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
