Brass rings move along your forearm this makes training more challenging. We use them for drills & forms. The added resistance makes your arms feel light when you take them off.

Start with only 1 or 2 rings at first. It's not body building so don't rush to add more weight. Swinging your ams with the rings is hard on the shoulders give them time to adjust. I use football hand pads as a cushion

for the back of hands. Hope this helps.

Hung Gar is famous for them, traditionally the rings are iron. They provide heavy conditioning.

Does anyone use rattan rings in their Wing Chun training and do you find them to be of help?

Never use less than 2 rings per arm. The reason being is that iron ring training is used to toughen the skin. you use two or more that way the rings move and can pinch and toughen the skin up it allso developes power.

rings are very beneficial when you use them during drills and forms. i trained with them for a long while. it's hell on your wrists, but eventualy

your speed will increase greatly and your arms will be tough which is real good for blocking techniques.

also after youv'e been using them for a while, all the rubbing it does on your arms will also cause the hair on your arms to rub off a bit.
