But my problem is im using hand wraps and after hitting the bag my hands are beat up and sore as well. What is a good glove to use?
ShotokanKid Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 You should look into Everlast Padded Gloves. Just look around and try some out. swdw Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 You need bag gloves. They're afirly inexpensive. Here's a link that will show you what you need. Any major sporting goods store will carry them. http://www.karatedepot.com/baggloves.html

What is a good glove to use?I prefer the type of gloves that wraps around your wrist and secures with velcro. It'll give you added support, and eliminates the use of hand wraps Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
SevenStar Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 handwarps are for more than wrist support. especially for people who may already have a hand injury - it pads bonespurs, so that you can still strike, even if you have them. The help to keep the fist as a whole in proper alignment and help to reduce sprains. you sweat into them as opposed to the glove, which lessens odor, as the wraps are washable. they have more benefits also. IMO, any one doing full contact on a regular basis should use them.
aefibird Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Check with your instructor that you are wearing your wraps correctly. Also, ask him/her what gloves he/she recommends for bagwork -and if you can borrow a pair to try out! There are many differnt types of MA gloves out there and not all of the types suit all MAists or all situations. You should use handwraps with gloves, not just on their own. "Was it really worth it? BullsEye Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Get a good pair of light weight gloves and then a set of heavier gloves (14-16oz) so you work on different aspects of your punching. There are several brands to choose from, so it really comes down to price and preference! Good luck!BullsEye Serious Deals, No Bull!https://www.bullseyefitness.com=========================
ItalianMuayThai Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 You can get bag gloves, i prefer just using Training Boxing Gloves. Everlast sells them cheap around 30$ for a pair of 16 oz ~ You first mistake is to underestimate ~
McNerny Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Hello, When I do heavy bag workouts, I use Everlast bag gloves along with the hand wraps. They work well. A good technique is beautiful but a beautiful technique is not always good. -Hirokazu Kanazawa
