Yabyahoo Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Hello again everyone, I would really like to learn using a weapon, honestly, I'm dreaming about it a long, long time! But, how could I practise it? There's no school or dojo anywhere around here So do you have any tips about how I could train? And what should I begin with, I really like swords and that kind of weapons... Thanks in advance, Yabyahoo Run, don't walk....Tae-Kwon-Do Pre-Black BeltAssistant Instructor
Hogosha Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 I know how you feel, but that didn't stop me, I learnt myself. What I did was buy a cheap white oak Bokken and made up my own katas. I also watched videos online, looked at pictures and tried to copy what was being done in them. Eventually it will pay off and you'll be getting good in no time. If you want a bokken you can find some cheap new ones in some of the ebay shops over at ebay. - Hogosha

seersin Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I dunno about learning yourself, you will accquire many bad habits, espcially with noone there to tell you if it's being done right or not. ISAIAH 53:5

Yabyahoo Posted March 14, 2005 Author Posted March 14, 2005 Yeah I know There is a Karate school nearby, but, 1) The lessons are at a time that I have to work... 2) I don't think they teach arts of weapons... But I'm thinking about making my own kata's with a bokken or something.... Run, don't walk....Tae-Kwon-Do Pre-Black BeltAssistant Instructor
