Our dojo has the little cubs program ...(you know that don't you?)Cubs-3-4Tiger-5-6 "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."

JimmyNewton Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 differs per place "The wise and successsful will always be met with violent opposition by mediocre minds."
gojoinstructor Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Well they took me, so I know you can at least be 32 !Actually we like to start them around age 6. There are a number of reasons behind it, maturity, focus, they can use the bathroom on there own..My son is going to be 3 and he has been in the dojo with me since birth, but would I call it training, no way. I won't have him start until 6 or so. (in a formal class anyway)
McNerny Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Hey, My dojo has an introductory program to Shotokan Karate that they can join at age 4. They play a lot of games to keep it entertaining, but still practice basics to prepare them for the actual Shotokan class. A good technique is beautiful but a beautiful technique is not always good. -Hirokazu Kanazawa
